When you purchase another receiver and remote, it comes with it's own card.
If you have DirecTV, they will set you up with the second receiver for a
small monthly charge. You do, however, have to have it connected to the
phone line periodically so they can download any purchases you've made
(movies, etc.)

If you don't connect it to the phone line, you'll find that the access drops
out and you have to call them to get connected again. Not a long process,
but irritating.

Now, I understand that they have a receiver out that doesn't need a phone
connection...specifically made for RV use. Haven't checked into it, but your
dealer should have info on it.
