I got MacKesh mirrors which fit my 00 Mountaineer perfectly.  They 
are fully adjustable and hold their position when you take them off 
and put them back on.  Saves lots of time.  Hensley sells them.

How much does your Safari weight?   My 1983 Excella 31 has a dry 
weight of 4,950 and gross weight of 7,300.  We weigh in just under 
6,000 as we camp, not full time.  At that weight in Florida, with a 
Hensley hitch I can tow at 70 mph all day long and get 11 mpg.  Like 
you I have the V-8.

I think that the Caravel that Patti is considering is nowhere near 
the weight or length of my unit, so I think her towing vehicle 
requirement is much less.  A Chevy Trailblazer has 260 hp. I-6, so it 
has more power than an Explorer/Mountaineer.
