Re: [A/S] Am I crazy?

I think we're ALL bozos on this bus... (anyone name the reference?)

I had a dream, the night before my 26th birthday... the details of which
were lost upon waking; but a single image remained: a meadow filled with
airstreams. i'd 'programmed' myself to solve a problem before going to bed
that night. the problem was: how to get myself, my two cats, and all my
stuff from the east coast to the west coast without having to transport my
car separately. being of scientific bent, even then, i didn't ordinarily put
much stock in the paranormal, but the following morning, i picked up a
yellow pages (i was staying with friends in rehoboth beach, de) and located
an rv place in dover that had a '65 globetrotter (11 years old at the time)
in good condition, for $1,500.00. i knew NOTHING of trailering. I drove up
to dover, plunked down the money, and only then thought to ask, 'Ummm... how
do i hook it up to my car?'... the sales guy laughed, and detailed the
requirements: brake controller, hitch receiver and ball, load levelers, sway
control... about four or five hundred dollars extra.

the whole series of events was about to take a turn... he offered to give me
all that stuff, and install it, for free. if he could take a picture of the
finished rig and use it in his advertising. i guess he didn't get too many
customers driving a '59 bentley looking to tow trailers (see picture at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AirstreamList/files/bentleytrailer8kb.jpg )

to shorten the story a bit... i was driving back to rehoboth beach that
afternoon, wondering where i would be parking this thing... when at that
very moment saw a small sign by the side of the road, about a foot off the
ground which read simply "Land Yacht Harbor"... with an arrow pointing down
a long blacktop driveway which disappeared into a stand of trees.... i made
the turn, and, through those trees, i found myself looking at the image from
my dream: a meadow filled with airstreams. i'd found 'Port Del-Mar-Va'.

i lived in that globetrotter for the next four years or so, having traveled
the country before settling in Santa Monica.

and that's the truth.
