What I mentioned is a pretty rare problem for me. I think that at least 19 
out of 20 routes it picks for me are good. The few times when I was in 
strange country and didn't do what it suggested I regretted later.

Lots of campgrounds are there - do you mean the ones that are there are not 
good? I use a mix of Street Atlas and Map 'n Go, and find one is best for 
some things and the other is better for other things. I think MnG has a 
more extensive list of campgrounds, but SA has some also. I have been using 
DeLorme since spring of '97 and have seen features come and go with 
different versions. Some have been much more useful for the camper than others.

Yesterday, you mentioned some difficulty in operating the program without a 
mouse. I use the keyboard - you can pan around the map with the direction 
keys, and zoom in or out with the pageup/pagedn keys, etc. Works for me.

Microsoft's Streets and Trips has a much "prettier" map, including 
topographic shading, etc,. It also covers Canada and you can plan routes 
including Canada (which SA does not allow). I have it working with my GPS 
in the truck, but it is hard to follow your route on the road with S&T 
because it does not show a trail of where you have been. Bummer!

People not using some kind of GPS map in their vehicles are missing out on 
one of today's most useful motorist gadgets, in my opinion. Navigating 
around in some remote section of a strange city is now a piece of cake. We 
drove through chinatown in Vancouver a few weeks ago with complete 
confidence. Seattle's one-way streets? - No problem!
