Re: [A/S] Fall 2001 travels
I've used the Rand McNally program to set out general directions and to
guage the length of time a trip will take. Then I use the "Mother keep
your finger on the map" GPS ("Go where I Point Stupid") on the trip. We
have never been lost, but we have taken some interesting detours.
One thing I wonder about, being in a philosophical mood these days, is
how one lets serindiptidy operate on a GPS scanner. Some of the best
things I've ever found where not on the map, not in the camping book and
run into completely by accident. Like that little valley south of
Stratford Ontario that looks like a Yorkshire dale, or the pasture in BC
that we woke up in, with cows looking in the windows. Can't get that at
Rand McNally. Sometimes I wonder if we plan too much...instead of going
out the driveway and turning left and seeing where we end up this time.
Oh well, back to following our noses.......
