Re: [A/S] insulating airstreams for winter use



Standard Airstream construction places a poly foam insulating board between 
the bottom of the tank and the aluminum panel below it. Also, many/most of 
them run a heating duct through this area and heat loss from it helps to 
keep the water tanks from freezing.

So I would think that as long as you are living in it and have the furnace 
running to keep you comfortable,. there is little danger of your water tank 
freezing.

You will probably need to make sure your waste water (sewer) lines slope 
well and perhaps insulate them also. I think I would let them collect and 
then dump all at once occasionally to avoid an ice buildup inside the 
exposed sewer lines during really cold weather.
