George, I'm not sure when A/S started this but the top
of my Safari is painted white. The white paint starts
just after the front and rear end sections and goes to
the long rails that divide the roof from the side
walls.

Supposedly I think A/S says it cuts 5 degrees from the
inside air temp.  You can't see this area from the
ground and if this is where the clear coat is bad, I
might think of possibly doing this.

Now there are lots of other issues, what to use and
how to apply and make it adhere, but its a thought.
