[A/S] Re: Results from Service.
Swamp coolers work on the principal of evaporation (no compressors)
and the cooling effect that it brings. That's why they work so well
in the SW...low humidity aids evaporation. In the case of your air
conditioner it doesn't work like a swamp cooler. According to what I
am hearing a 15-20 degree difference in outside temperature is all
you can expect. So figure 112-15 =97. You were getting probably all
you could get out of your unit based on this design.
I know home units in our area are sized to maintain a 20 degree
spread so its not unusual to see a 100 day in STL once or twice a
summer and an inside temperature of 80 degrees with the air
conditioner running continually.
I would be curious if A/S puts larger air conditioning units on
trailers that will be primarly be used in the SW???
