In the mid 70's Airstream had a generator option on the 31' Excella.

As I recall, it was propane fueled and was built into the curbside rear of
the trailer.  I think the generator was mounted on some sort of slide so it
could be pulled out for servicing.  The unit was accessed via a locked door
similar to that of the battery compartment (only bigger).

I do not recall how powerful a unit it was.
