Re: [A/S] Generators location

Some time ago I posted a note to this effect, so please accept my apologies
for repeating, but I think it is pertinent to the current generator
discussion.

Many years ago, an Airstream dealer [no longer around] responded to my
question about a generator in a trailer. This dealer had outfitted several
"Boondocking rigs" which were used for extended periods of time without
hookups.

He said that the best place for the generator is NOT in the trailer, but IN
THE TOW VEHICLE. This allows you to get the generator away from the
trailer, thereby reducing the noise, vibration, and exhaust smell for the
inhabitants of the trailer.

Granted, this was back in the '70s - before the current crop of "Quiet"
Honda style generators.

However, I think the idea still has merit. This would probably imply a
generator fueled by the same fuel as that of the tow vehicle (though one
could have a separate supply tank - propane, diesel, or gasoline).
