I changed my status to "Web Only" about four weeks ago when I left on this
trip.  For a response to reach me you will have to address it directly to me
since I am not receiving the list's regular emails.

I began what will be a 3 to 4 month tour of Alaska and Western Canada.  I
just arrived in Fairbanks today.  The northern most point will be the Arctic
Circle on Thursday (Summer Solstice).  If you are interested in reading

I have tried a "trick" I heard about and wanted to pass it on.  I applied a
very light coating of Vaseline to the front of both my suburban and McKesh
towing mirrors.  It only takes a light stream of water to remove the bugs.
The side effect of a shiny black mirror to the front is an added bonus.

I travel by myself and there are two problem times, when hooking up and when
backing up.  I have two small, wide angle, color, wireless TV cameras that
help.  One is on a tripod with a battery pack.  I place it on top of the
tongue jack and get a clear view of the trailer coupler and center up
perfect the first time.  The other is mounted out of sight on the back of
the rear window's valance in the trailer.  I have a great view behind to use
when passing and backing up.  The receiver is in the Suburban connected to a
5" color TV I was not using.  They supply 115vac to 12vdc power supplies but
I just connect everything directly into 12v.  Over 3600 miles so far, over
some VERY bad roads and everything still works fine.  The hardware was
