Re: [A/S] 1968 26 foot overlander

Hi Tim -

It's not a bad price, but so much depends on condition.

You should check the floor carefully for soft spots (evidence of leaks or
water damage)...fire up the furnace, hot water heater, and AC to make sure
they really work and that the LP gas system is ok...check the water system
for leaks and make sure all the electrical devices (lights, fans, pumps,
Univolt, etc.) work properly.

Check for rust on the frame, check the tires, bearings, and brakes...check
all the windows, vents, hatches and doors for proper operation and
leaks...in other words, don't take anyone's word for anything...check every
single thing you can think of!

We paid around that amount for our 1966 Overlander (the Tin Twinkie) in
near-perfect shape a few years ago. If everything actually checks out o.k.,
it should be a pretty good deal...but remember that parts for older
Airstreams are getting more expensive as they get harder to find. If there
is something major wrong, it may turn out to be an expensive problem to fix.

Good Luck,

Tom
