My recently acquired K-H controller is a model 81740C but I assume the wires
and wiring are identical.

Black Wire:        Battery connection.  "Connect through a 15 or 20 amp
self-resetting circuit breaker to the
positive side of the battery or starter solenoid."  "Use a rubber grommeted
hole in the                                         firewall......."

Blue Wire:          Connect directly to the trailer brake wire.

Red Wire:           Connect to the output side of the tow vehicle's stop
light switch through a 15 amp fuse.
This circuit is independent of trailer brakes.  The K-H controller provides
trailer stop lights                                 when the controller is
actuated automatically by the tow vehicle's braking system or when the
driver manually applies trailer brakes only.
