Re: [A/S] Tekonsha Voyager

I stand corrected. I guess my problem with the pendulum controller (i used
one for about a week, towing a car-hauler - i hated it) is that the braking
seems to be affected by a whole host of variables (going uphill, down hill,
'panic' stops, long grades) so that it would take a while to learn all the
'nuances' of it. I much prefer the simple 'timed' braking of the 'ramp' type
because it's very easy to learn the range of braking effect under differing
conditions.

BTW, after being bounced around eight (count 'em EIGHT) sub-divisions of
Hayes-Lemmerz' 'aftermarket' division today, I learned from a gentleman at
their service department (Randall) that they shipped the last of their
Kelsey-Hayes hydraulic-actuated electric controllers about two years ago
to.... the canadian Airstream outfit, 'CanAm RV', is it?... Randall
suggested that i might keep checking parts departments at truck stops and rv
shops, etc... they're undoubtedly out there. The reason i like the idea of
the hydraulic actuator is that it's about the only way to get an
easily-adjustable and truly proportional system... the new Tekonsha
'Prodigy' shows promise, however, in that its inertial system 'checks' the
unit's absolute angle every second or so...

Tuna.
