Re: [A/S] Safari Spare

Hi Harvey,

As you know, I have the recessed cavity for the spare tire in my Safari.
However, I've seen other A/S with the spare tire mounted vertically behind
the LP tanks. It might require moving the tank holding base on some "A"
frames, but the weight on the hitch wouldn't be much different than the
under belly cavity installation. The "A" frame should easily support the
weight. Turning clearance for the tow vehicle might be a consideration as
it was with my conversion van. I had to remove the spare tire from my van
to gain enough clearance for the tongue jack, let alone the tanks.

Behind the tanks with a suitable bright metal cover could blend easily with
the A/S bright exterior.

I looked at the Healthy Homes site tonight and saw an under belly spare tire
bracket in the parts for-sale section. I think the price was $70.

Your thoughts?
