Joy, I don't think it's a big concern. I can't imagine Airstream would
seek out for sale vintage trailers to rebuild for resale. They do repairs
now so I see the announcement as meaning they will take on more extensive
repairs at a customer's request. It cost more to rebuild a vintage than to
build a new one so any they rebuilt for resale would cut into their new
trailer and MH sales. If they have too much excess manufacturing capacity
they will try to increase sales of their product line (appeal to younger
buyers with smaller more "modern" trailers, do more repair work or cut
back on production employees. It would be helpful to us hobby rebuilders
if vintage parts became available from Thor Industries. Just my ideas --
your mileage may vary.
