[A/S] Routing advice

This is a good time to reiterate my thanks to this list for all you have
given me over the past 2 1/2 years. How-to-do-it restoration
information is essential in dealing with our beloved aluminum addiction,
but what has been most helpful to me has been your constant insights on
how to live inside the aluminum after (and sometimes before) it is
restored. While the first names that come to mind are Hunter and Terry
Tyler, many more of you have combined to take me from the stage where my
a/s was an aging ornament in the backyard to a true home wherever I tow
it. On our recent trip to Brownsville, list advice on the condition of
pavements through the south were right on target, and a tremendous help
to us.

But now I have a need. About 10 March we want to go from Columbus to
Atlanta, and along the way would like to try out Top of Georgia.
Question is this: which road should we take from Knoxville over the
Smokies?

          (1) I-75 to US-64/74 to state 17? I would guess this is the
best bad weather route.

          (2) US-129 to US-64 to state 17? (probably more scenic, but
how safe is it to tow?)

          (3) I-40 to Tn-66 to US-441 to US-64 to state 17? (again,
scenic, but probably over-crowded and how safe to tow?)

          (4) I-40 to old US-23, then down US-441 (probably safer... but
getting out of the way, and how safe is that part of US-441)

Please, Hunter and some off the rest who are familiar with towing in
this area in March, give us some guidance.
