Re: [A/S] Hitchin' up
I echo Phil's advice...My Dad taught me to drive and back up in a 3/4 ton p/u
with a 10' camper on the back. No way to see through the rear view mirror or to
turn and look over your shoulder. I had to learn to use the mirrors for backing
up...After walking the area I was backing into!
When I'm backing the trailer, I usually have as helpers, my two kids...8 & 11.
They have learned the hand signals (no one can hear over the Powersmoke) so they
can help the process along. They also know that if they can't see me in the
mirror, I can't see them or their signals (and they are in TROUBLE!). This
accomplishes several things...1. I know exactly where they are, 2. They feel
involved and helpful, 3. The backing up process goes more quickly, and 4. We all
get to play sooner!
