Thank you all so much for you comments and suggestions!  I will keep
looking and will definitely and  thoroughly inspect any trailer before
buying it!.  I am looking for a project, but not a never-ending one!  I
had planned to fly out and look at it first.
 
This is a 65 Caravelle that is in Hartford CT. It is exactly the trailer
and vintage that I am looking for!  I found it on Airstream.net. 
However, it looks like the shipping on this trailer is going to be a a
bit too high for me.  The best quote I have is still $2000! So I guess I
keep looking! At least I know now that if I can't drive to pick it up I
probably don't want it!

questions about my new trailer soon!
