[A/S] Need info on 2 meter radio for RV

I am thinking about getting a 2 Meter radio for use when I travel with
my Airstream, and would like to get some information on type of radio I
should purchase. I like the small hand held units, but don't want to
spend the $150 for one if it isn't going to have a useful range.
I spent about an hour finding the "Radio Club" portion of the Airstream
world, and getting to their "Post Office" and posting my question. That
was two weeks ago, and I have received no response from anyone. That is
very different from this list. Someone will at least tell you to "buzz
off" if nothing else in much less than two weeks.
If there are any "Radio Club" folks on this list please give me some
feedback in privet, or on the list sense there maybe some interested
parties on the list. The recent article in Trailer Life about the use of
2 Meter radios in your RV is what got me started down this road.
