My '93 and apparently all later A/Ss have a key-locked exterior/knob-locked
interior deadbolt lock which is installed in the wall, in a grab handle
beside the door.

When replacing the lockset in my '66 Safari I learned that a long tongue
lock is available from Bargman or a long tongue which can be adapted into
Bargman locks from the Wally Byam Store in Jackson Center.  My guess is a
knowledgeable A/S parts specialist or locksmith familiar with A/S
applications could order and/or install a suitable lock.
