[A/S] AS entry door

I attempted to install a deadbolt in my '89 Excella in the wall, not the door 
and discovered that the normal lock setback (I think 2 3/8"?)did not allow 
for it. As I can recall, a normal lock would have required me to cut a main 
vertical member in order to get the lock close enough to the door opening and 
allow the bolt to extend far enough into the door. Since that time I have 
abandoned the idea, but if someone comes up with a method, I surely would 
like a deadbolt that could be locked from the outside. I have seen deadbolts 
installed that were part of the handle alongside the door on older trailers, 
but not on newer ones. Bill
