Bill, the type of brake hookup your manual shows is difficult if not
impossible to find. It is a hydrolically activated system. They fell out of
demand as anti-lock brakes came into usage on cars and trucks. Most likely
you will need to purchase a modern brake unit, install it on your Suburban
along with the proper plug on the rear end to accept the wiring harness
coming from the trailer (assuming that the Suburban doesn't already have
one. Even with this accomplished do not expect to just be able to plug it in
and go, as Airstream was wired differently than todays trailers are. It
should just require switching some wires on the trailer end of the plug. If
you are not confident in doing this, then any competent RV place should be
able to do all of this for you.
