[A/S] Was Dodge crew cabs, now Nissan Pathfinder

Hi Ed -

I don't think that there really are any 2000 lb. 22 foot Airstreams out
there...except some of the really early models with very limited interiors.

That being said, you probably are within the tow rating of the Pathfinder
with an older 22' Airstream. 3000# is probably close to the dry weight of a
60-something Safari (22')...our Overlander (26') is 4250# dry...then add
water, propane, stuff, more stuff, etc. and it usually travels at a bit over
5000#...

The real problem lies in the short wheelbase of the Pathfinder (and similar
vehicles)...without installing a hitch system (Hensley or Pullrite) which
compensates for the unpleasant towing characteristics of a short-wheelbase
vehicle, it probably wouldn't be much fun...it's a lot different than towing
a boat of the same weight (which generally has a much lower
center-of-gravity and weight distribution).
