Silicon caulk is OK if you're building an aquarium, but not for much
else.

It picks up dirt and dust, and shows it.  It peels near the edges of the
bead, particularly in hot weather.  It _will_ leak after a period of
time.  It's tough to get off.  Get the idea?

It is OK for lap and butt joints, if placed before assembly, but still
not really reliable.

Vulkem is the only way to go.  You can get it from Airstream Dreams, or
from most A/S dealers.
