Scott, for the last ten years, we have carried a silver aluminum canoe on top of our van (equipped
with two homemade roof racks). The canoe has gone with us throughout the continent, including
several trips to Alaska and Mexico. I supplement the two nylon straps with four C clamps and tie off
the front and rear of the canoe with ropes. Very simple method and easily done.
