Can you see or reach the interior portion of the lock under whatever is 
in the inside rear of trailer.  These are pretty simple lock devices and 
the key on turns a flat plate like shaft to catch the frame.  This shaft 
simply may be stuck and if you can tap it it might loosen up.  These 
locks are still available or  replaceable  if you have to drill it out.  
In fact they still use these lock on a lot of current RV  storage  door.  
The one on the rear of my '56 Bubble had to be replaced.
