Elisa,
I would think that what you want should be easily enough made. I have never
heard of someone doing this for rock guards, but as long as it is secured
well enough to withstand the winds (and gusts) encountered during travel...
I have window awnings that snap onto my window frames. This is the clostest
thing that I have seen to what you propose.
