If you really want to PROTECT from rocks think Lexan instead of
Plexiglas. Lexan deflects bullets. And can be bent without heating. It
is a bit more expensive. Plexiglas turns to crumbles in the sun in time.
Lexan darkens though there are UV resistant varieties available.

Look at www.mcmaster.com for chunks of plastic sheets.
