I bet that this is a case of the California plant vs the Ohio plant.  If the
CA ones did not have the "ships wheel" emblem and all had a serial number of
2 numbers followed by 3 letters, then 5 more numbers. My Ohio has the ships
wheel and a serial number of 6 numbers followed by one letter. All the 1960
models I have noticed follow this pattern, not the pattern of the ones at
Olema. Living in Ohio, most all the Airstreams I see were probably made in
Ohio.
