RE: [A/S] Wheel chair door widths

Problem with wheelchairs are that they need to be a little wider than the
person sitting in them. Because of this I don't think that a chair could be
made narrow enough to fit many trailers. For example my Overlander with twin
beds. The walkway is only about 2 feet wide and you have to go through it to
get to the bathroom. And the way the toilet is stuffed next to the closet,
nearly behind the sink, its hard enough for a able bodied person to get in
there, let alone someone in a wheel chair. Also all the overhead storage
areas would be out of reach, let alone all the areas that you kneel down to
access. This is why I suggested a new trailer with an interior that is
"handicap accessible" If someone refurbs vintage ones to do the same job
then fine. But beyond this I just don't see a feasible way of a person in a
chair being able to use a trailer. Yes wheel chair lifts are available, but
the interior also needs to accomodate the chair.
You dreamers and idea people on this list---Keep on Dreaming and comming up
with ideas, eventually you will come accross something that will work and be
practical. A whole segment of our society will thank you.
