I've been towing my 31' Excella with this for the summer:

It was however, all it could do to pull the trailer up a pretty severe
hill coming up out of Duluth Mn. about a month ago. It seems to handle
things OK otherwise. But I have a plan (Famous last words) I have this
Ford truck sitting in the yard along with an over the road truck sleeper
(That I got for next to nothing)

This particular truck, was a hand-me-down from my father-in-law. He used
it for towing a 40' flatbed as a commercial hauler. The chassis has
780,000 miles on it, and the engine (the original block, rebuilt) has
about 170,000 miles on it. The 8.2 Liter Detroit runs like a top. Only
thing I need to fix is the transmission, fourth gear went out. I also
have the sleeper to put on the back. I'm planning on installing this as
an extension of the cab instead. I think I'll also install some side
windows, maybe even one in the back too. I'll install a seat rather than
use it as a bed and then everyone will fit in there for the trips to the
lake next summer.
