Polly:
Sounds like we were on the same wavelength.  Want the pole barn to protect 
the unit and provide additional warmth.  Also to provide additional 
storage/work area.  Want to be able to use the unit in the winter in SW 
Wisconsin.  Yet be able to pull the unit out if desired for nicer weather or 
for travel.  Another goal is to keep property taxes down, where I have the 
unit if the there are wheels on it, no property taxes, take the wheels off, 
and they jump up. 
Also like you, to keep investment cost down, do not want to go spending 
75,000 and up for permanent structure or mobile home.
Let me know as you find out more on the cost, one quote I had from a local 
builder for the 40 X 60 with cement floor, no insulatation, only one door, 
was $11,000.
