Re: [A/S] Caravelle

Hi Cristian:

I have these windows in my '67 Safari.  I didn't know what to make of
them at first.  They appeared to be very fragile.  Actually, I'm now
amazed at how durable and flexible they really are.  Of course, since
they are glass, they can be broken and, as far as I know, can't be
replaced "in kind".

I have a couple of Lexan replacements.  Lexan is extremely durable and I
have been very satisfied with their performance so far.  One thing you
don't have to worry about is breaking the Lexan ones.

Now that I have gotten used to them, I really like this window design and
wouldn't hesitate to, if need be, replace another or all of them with
Lexan. In fact, while in the midst of replacing the material in my rock
guard with Lexan, I considered merely replacing the front window with it
and dispensing with the rock guard entirely.  But I didn't, mainly
because I like the "awning" function of the guard.
