 I have one of those in my older truck, it's the first electric brake
controller I ever used. Gerald describes its action well: the trailer
braking action "ramps up" the longer you hold your foot on the brake
pedal. Both ramp speed and maximum brake current are adjustable.

It works "OK", but has its limitations, again as Gerald describes.

I have a Tekonsha (NAPA boxed and badged) Voyager on the 'new' truck.
Although I've only towed about 40 miles with it so far, it seems to work
more transparently and I like it better. It does require some fooling to
get it adjusted right.
