[A/S] Brake Controlers

I found a pretty reasonable brake controler in the "Northern Tool &
Equipment Co." Catalog.   They were priced at $54.99 and the part number is
#12494-B227.  This was the write-up:

    "Automatic POWERSTOP works with the touch of your foot or fingertip.
Gives you stopping power for all electric brake trailers up to 18,000 lbs.
Lighted control bar lets you vary your trailer's braking action.  Works with
or without braking your tow vehicle.  Red LED light indicates amount of
power being applied.  Also blinks if a short circuit occurs in the braking
system.  Does not require tapping into your tow vehicle's hydraulic brake
system, won't violate your tow vehicle manufacturer's warranty.  Easy to
install. Works with 1, 2, or 3 axles and with regular and ABS anit-lock
brakes.  Mounts anywhere under the dash.  Weight is 2 lbs."

I thought some of you "seasoned veterans of the highway" might have some
