RE: [A/S] New A/S newbie questions
Polly, if I understand you, you are not using weight distribution bars.
Perhaps you have some type of mega receiver on your tow vehicle, but I doubt
that it can handle the weight of your GT plus 10,000 pounds. I bet if you
take a closer look at it that you would discover that the high number is for
a hitch with weight distribution bars, not a dead weight setup like you seem
to indicate that you have. If this is true, the dead weight numbers for your
hitch would be much lower (5000 pounds is a common one). Which means that
you are probably safe in the receiver department, just mistaken as to how
much it can handle.
I would highly suggest getting some weight distribution bars. They would put
some of the weight back on to the front wheels of your Bronco that the GT is
currently removing. It will help your handling. Another added benefit is a
smoother ride (at least they helped the ride on my F250).
