Re: [A/S] First Post / Replacing Old Radio with Stereo AM/FM/CD
I'm thinking of installing a standard automotive or marine mount. Jensen
has a couple marine radios that include weather band which could be
super handy while camping. One has AM/FM/Cassette and the other has
AM/FM/CD. I"d think either the marine mount or the shaft mount style
would mount through the panel at one end of the front storage
compartment nicely. Or just bolt to the bottom of such a shelf or
cabinet to be accessed by opening the door. My '69 Caravel has speakers
mounted up front for just such an occasion.
I had the model numbers for these radios here, but don't see them now.
My local Walmart has a display slot for the CD version but none for
display or stock.
I'd like to test one before buying. The docs I've found on line say they
cover three weather band frequencies, but in the past couple years the
NWS has added 4 more making 7 in use and that could reduce the utility
of the radio combination. Portable weather radios don't work well inside
the airstream.
