Dear Scott,
         The use of acrylic lacquer in the atmosphere will not only 
guarantee inbonding of oxides, it is way out of environmental 
standards.  To do the job right, one needs a very large spray booth.  This 
is the domain of professionals like the one you chose.

To suggest that we can get out there with our sprayers and clear coat an 
Airstream is definitely something I would never do.  How much did your 
clear coat job cost?  Also the "experience" of the painting service does 
not guarantee a 10 year finish.  If they were doing the same job as the 
stock airstream it would last more like 20 years.

The experts on the list have always counseled me NOT to re-coat the clear 
coat.  They have only recommended stripping and polishing.
