[A/S] Adding power boosting chips to Ford Power Stroke Diesel
Tuesday, September 12, 2000
Hi all:
Well, you've given the "hots" for a diesel puller (first step to getting an
AS) - looks like I'll be getting into a Ford Excursion with a diesel soon.
Searching the web I've come across the after market chips to boost
performance and actually the sales rep mentioned them to me to. I asked if
it VOIDS the warranty, he said it shouldn't - then he added if I was worried
about that I could just put the original in when I bring the vehicle for
service. I don't feel especially comfortable with that. I've got a good
chunk of change invested and I like to respect company warranties - if I'm
going to hold them responsible then I have to keep my end of the bargain and
respect the way they deliver it.
One example is listed here http://www.dieselchips.com/ford.htm . This
outfit says it does affect the manufacturer says "All without voiding any
factory warranties or affecting emissions."
I want to play with a diesel and this if the first experience. Any sage
advise to a novice??
