Re: [a/s] Black water tank valve
I have the same problem, left over by the
previous owner. As someone has pointed
out, the valve opening gets some crud in
it, which if it dries is especially troublesome. You have tried the
drain
product for the purpose. One treatment
may not have been enough. I am using
a generic form of Murphy's Wood Oil Soap
(buy it at Big Lots, Dollar General or Family Dollar -- one or the other
of these--
smell the Murphy's and then the generic
Wood Oil Soap, get the one that smells
like Murphy's. I am paying $1.20 at Big
Lots. Use 16 oz. (half a bottle) and let it
stay in the tank until it is full. And repeat,
And repeat, etc. Mine is gradually getting
easier to use. All of this in additiion to the
flushing. There is a reverse flush by
Valterra (?) which will require the Thetford
adapter, and that may help.
If all else fails: replace the valve.
