Hi all:
On our last outing we were introduced to a number of
experienced trailer users and soaked up all the wisdom they were willing to part
with... One of the topics was lock problems....
The suggestion was to be sure that the little button just
above the inside handle that locks the door from the inside was jammed in the up
position...The "old hand" had the button jammed up with a couple of narrow
pieces of plastic and he said he had crawled into the trailer through the cargo
door in the right rear that has a opening into the rear closet...(locked out not
once, but twice...) Each time the problem was traced to the inside lock. He
thought the lock broke/wore-out inside causing the button/lever to fall down and
lock the door from the inside....
Not having a rear cargo door to crawl through and probably too
big to get through if I did, I jammed the button in the up position... The
deadbolt had not been working and not having the inside lock feature anymore...
I worked on the deadbolt until it worked somewhat... Now that we are home, I
will finish that project....
