You don't need a 3/4 ton pickup to tow that Bambi.... a 1/2 ton will be fine.
Older cars were heavier, had solid strong frames and big engines.
New cars are mostly light, underpowered and have unibodies.
I think the key to a safe tow vehicle is a long wheelbase... which is why
most SUVs aren't the best tow vehicles....except for Suburbans and Excursions.
Many people tow with Tahoes and Yukons and Expeditions though... I wouldn't
get an SUV any shorter than one of them.
Toyota makes a fullsize pickup now....
That's my opinion though...many on the list will disagree. (c:
