Re: [a/s] Door Handle Problem )c:

Another potential cause of misalignment arises when one of the hinges comes
loose ... i.e. its fastening to the body of the coach. Those are big screws
(actually bolts) with nuts on the inside which unfortunately are not fastened to
anything so if you want to tighten them after they have become loose you have to
find some way of getting access to the inside of the outer skin next to the door
frame.

The giveaway is that if you lift up on the door the latch works easier. So
wiggle the partly open door and see if the upper hinge (or the lower, but more
likely the upper) moves at all. If so it needs to be tightened.

That is my current problem ... it has obviously happened before, in the hands of
the previous owner, as some of the moulding around the door is bent all out of
shape from his (probably unsuccessful) efforts to get at the nuts.

Can anyone suggest how to do this, short of stripping most of the interior out
of the coach? It is put together in layers, so you would first have to remove
the window valances, then the ceiling panels, then the "shoulder" panels, etc
... which is a bigger job than I can tackle just now.
