I have two Airstreams and I never use the key in the door handle. I always 
have a dead bolt installed. The key mechanism is not strong enough and the 
continuious use usually breaks the locking mechanism. I always get the dead 
bolt that has the turning knob inside the trailer and the key, of course, 
outside. I can then lock my screen door at night or in a road side restarea 
when we stop to have lunch. I just recently had a good strong one installed 
on my 25' trailer for $69.00. J Auman 2346.
