Hi Ebert,

I'm probably not the one to ask...... my idea of winterizing is driving south 
(c:  I hope to never be in brutally cold weather.  I know it works in the 
high 30s.  I back it up with a Pelonis disc heater.  If I were in freezing 
temps I would use the gas furnace as it will keep the water pipes warm.  
Since the heat pump is on the ceiling, and heat rises, I don't think it can 
keep water pipes from freezing like the gas furnace.

But then you never see electric heat pumps in houses way up north do you?

I think it's great, but like I said, I'm not in freezing places using it.
