Yes, Mike I have been into that site...WONDERFUL..it
let me to this one! Sorry I don't have a scanner or
decent pictures of my 34 foot 1977 Silver Streak...I
have searched in vain for years for Silver Streak
material, so that site is a godsend! I have often
thought of starting a Silver Streak Club. However we
are selling our vacation home at the moment and will
be full-timing again for about a year...
YIPPPEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
So the timing is off for me at this time. The original
Silver Streak Club disbanded when the factory shut
down for good in 1997. They were operating under
Silver Star RV Company at that time, still making
Silver Streaks trailers however. Re-starting a club is
a daunting task, as well as expensive......I know
there are other proud and loving Silver Streak owners
out there. I can't be the only one that feels honored
to be associated with the Silver Streak legacy!
And as far as the Airstreamers that don't know the
connection. This is the story told to me by the
longtime owner of an Airstream Dealership. (Originally
there was Airstream, eventually two of the founders of
that company broke away to start their own trailer
companies. One went on to develope and produce
Streamline Trailers, the other started the Silver
Streak Trailer Company. This was in the mid 40's. This
is why the early three "sisters" look so similar,
because the same men that developed Airstream carried
the same ideas into the construction of Silver Streak,
and Streamline.) To this day, the three trailers makes
are close shadows of each other.
