The Surrette batteries are excellent and a good choice.  However, you will cook
those as well if you don't change your original charger (usually not an
inverter).  The Heart has a computer controlled three stage charging system
which is great.  that's what you need.  Check http://www.statpower.com on the
net.  They sell last year models 
at a big discount.  You can get a 20 amp charger/converter which will do as good
a job in the RV as your boat setup.
