Doug and all,

While others will disagree and have their own opinions, I think a 31'
trailer has the most livability space and storage for the long trip or for
enthusiasts that need to have those few extra nooks and crannies for
storage.  Layout is the BIG thing.  Our '73-31 footer had rear twins and
middle/side bath.  It had great closet and cabinet space and had a lovely L
shaped lounge up front.  It had a fold up table for meals.  The table can
stay safely in the up position too, so there isn't a hangup there.

It was pretty easy getting around too.  I think the body was 27'6" and
overall just about 31'.  I wasn't at all concerned about navigating in gas
stations or campgrounds.  I think most state parks accept these size rigs.

Our 34' (really is 35'1"), and feels like it is 42' sometimes.  But, most
times there doesn't seem to be any major difference.  I think we were
spoiled by the storage space in the 31'.  Although there may be enough, its
distributed here and there with no rhyme or reason.  But, we especially like
a built-in dinette, it is great for meals, writing, playing games and
generally I think it keeps the trailer cleaner with all the food located in
the galley area.

Part of the travel involves comfort.  Don't forget to size the tow vehicle
for the trailer.  Think heavy duty!  Don't scrimp!
