Norma:

         About WD-40 (but not actually relevant to releasing corroded locks).
         I was just yesterday talking to a crop duster pilot at ToG, and 
mentioned that I used WD-40 on the hitch bar of my Hensley.  He told me 
that WD-40 is not good on stuff made of iron (steel, etc).  In his 
business, they don't ever let it near an aircraft, he said.   Apparently, 
WD-40 actually promotes rust in iron.  I've switched to 3-in-1 oil.
         Has anyone else encountered this claim?
